Session 1 : IELTS Part 1.
The first frame is about where you live or what you do (about 1.5 minutes).
Example 1
Let’s talk about where you live
Do you live in the city or in the country? (Why?)
What do you like or dislike about the place where you live? (Why?)
Would you like to live in a different place in the future?
Example 2
Let’s talk about what you do.
Do you work or are you a student?
What subject do you study? (Why?)
What do you like most about this subject? (Why?)
Will you study this subject more in the future? (Why?)
The second and third frames can be about various topics related to everyday life (about 3 minutes – 1.5 minutes each).
Example
Let’s talk about mobile phones.
How often do you use a mobile phone? (Why?)
Do you think the use of mobile phones has any disadvantages? (Why?)
Are there any differences in the way young people use mobile phones, compared with older people? (Why?)
Do you think mobile phone technology will change in the next few years? (Why?)
Session 2 : IELTS Part 2. The long turn
Outline of the session:
1. Review Part 1 from last week (in breakout rooms) 10 minutes
2. Explanation about Part 2
3. Practice Part 2
The interviewer will give you a topic and you will have to speak for 2 minutes. You will have 1 minute to prepare. You can make notes if you wish.
Example
Describe something you own which is very important to you.
You should say:
where you got it from
how long you have had it
what you use it for
why it is important to you.
